I would be more than happy to direct you to the nakid picture of me on the internet though because i do enjoy actual porn. and for the record i was out climbing 5.7's today and now i am going to get fucked so am am getting all kinds. I don't climb much during the week, because i have a successful career, spend time with my kids most every day and have 50% custody of them. I have a functioning co-parenting relationship with my ex husband, i have many friends, a multitude of hobbies and interests and a wonderful boyfriend and extended family. marylou had every right to post her opinion of someting she thought was lame, I happen to hold the same opinion. if you can't handle the idea of someone not thinking you are the cats kitty every time you clip a bolt or summit some moderate peak, don't post about it on the internet. no one obligated to be nice to you. We encourage trip reports in general around here, it's actually what the broadest cross section of users enjoy most. I know plenty of folks would find a story from you about struggling at your own level of climbing, and plenty of others would be happy to hear your TR from the fucking bit. Please note that the board administration does discourage the posting of porn here, so sadly I must suggest the latter trip report not be illustrated. I wanna read about "ordinary" adventures that I can relate to and I want to able to share my non noteworthy accomplishments with others as well. I think many of the people who view this site are very ordinary people with average skills- people who juggle family, work and who knows what else, trying to get out on the weekends and whenever they can. The sorts of climbs they are doing are comensurate with their skills. People are curious about how some other average climber of similar skill fares on a given route, and they want to hear the "warts and all" type report. It's good to know that other people make mistakes too, and maybe reading about other people's mistakes might save one or two of our own. Just as an example, one of the reasons Mike Layton's TRs are so entertaining is because he doesn't try to make us feel like he's some sort of perfect machine. You can feel a little bit like you are there, because he tells you all about the little odd things that happen. It's all very human. Sorry I just discovered this is the "Spray Version" of this thread. Just a suggestion to the mods- add Spray Version to the Subject so that people using "Search Past 24 Hours" can more easily differentiate. It is about sharing...maybe you didn’t learn that in the sandbox when you grew up. Please, move on if you can't take it it. I donnot climb and write reports to “get some” as muffy would insinuated. I donnot write reports and climb to get attention or to be the “kats kitty”. I donnot write reports to beat my chest. Just the opposite..I beet myself up for being a slug (compared to the machines I climb with) and screwing up things or being a chicken shit, if I don’t summit or finish a 5.10a route. I do feel proud when I do accomplish something I thought I could never do though. I post about that excitement. That is the personal side of it. I tend to write about the personal side of it too. The good and bad! Why is that so horrible? I write reports because the net is here for like minded folks to share the same passion. My passion for the mountains is my a huge part my life, has been for 15+ years. I enjoy reflecting on the trip and writing about it. Usually laughing at the images, things, good times and folks involved. Even the ones that I/we have made mistakes and learned from them. Sharing that with a community that understands what it is like is fun. I write reports to give folks who are headed to the same place and idea of the conditions too. I read reports too! Oh boy do I read reports! I learn so much from reports here and the many other sites. I love Trs. The mountains, the challenge, fun, and friends is what is all about to me. Oh and it is about the pics too got to love the mountain porn! Here is some more porn for ya all!! Sorry if you don't like MY porn muffy... Moments like this is what it is about for me... I appreciate the reports that are written, especially for the times I can't get out. Even if they are average, it still is a reminder of what is important. If you don't want to read a tr, don't. It definitly does not "dilute" the significance of any other reports. I hope people do not get discouraged to post, I like reading them. Actually, I usually just look at the pictures anyway. I actually agree with you about the alpine conditions. I think it is indeed noteworthy to post a TR in such an ever changing environment. however i don't think anyone wants to hear about the 1200 time i have climbed Fat Crack at the colllums (W00T) no matter how much fun i have and how much i enjoy watching the sunset over the city i love while tearing down my anchor and rapping down. by noteworthy i don't mean 5.14. i mean something of interest that 99.9% of the climbing population hasn't seen, and done in the exact same way in the exact same conditions. it would be noteworhty to post a TR if i bolt were missing on a sport route. or if chains were missing... something unique. I also enjoy TR's if they are particularly humorous. Pope and Dwayner for instance have been known to make a cragging TR totally enjoyable.
